I am neither tall nor short, and my hair is considered curly and brown. My eyes are green. I am happily married and like living in LA. I am usually reading at least three books.
A book is only truly appreciated when it is read yet again, and some of the authors I reread the most are Dante, C.S. Lewis, Dorothy Sayers, Charles Williams, J.R.R. Tolkien, Jane Austen, Patricia McKillip and Robin McKinley.
I have long been fascinated by Arthurian legends, fairy tales, Narnia, and the Robin Hood stories. Of late I have added Dante and Firefly to this list of subjects I can talk about passionately and at great length (as my friends will witness).
I like making costumes, and my more recent endeavors include a red, blue and gold costume for Renaissance Fairs, and a red satin dress for Regency dances. My most involved project is Regency short stays, which have been quite fun and have involved learning how to sew gussets, eyelets, and metal stays, and will eventually also include altering my red satin Regency dress to properly fit over the short stays.
I will read just about anything that is fantasy (Terry Pratchett, Diana Wynne Jones, and Robin McKinley are a few favorites) and watch just about anything that is science fiction (I have a very high tolerance for cheesy science fiction).
This is a journal in which I talk about physics, philosophy, Dante, C.S. Lewis, fairy tales, and occasionally Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as well as any other topic that seems of interest. Please pull up a comfortable armchair and join us by the fireplace, and add your voice to the discussion if you like.
